Our brief for 32 New Lane was to transform the client’s cold, dark and dated 2-bedroom bungalow into a large, light and spacious home for entertaining family in, whilst retaining the emotional attachment to the basic form and structure.
The walls were originally just solid brick, which we have externally insulated with wood fibre and lime render to maintain the breathability of the structure, with the floors and roof now being naturally insulated too. The home has been given a contemporary edge with crisp white render and galvanised steel guttering complementing the colour of the new woodwork.
The house now boasts a large open plan kitchen, dining and living room at the rear with large windows focusing out over the garden, lovingly maintained with the extra benefit of a spacious new potting shed adjoining the rear of the garage. The new floor upstairs contains 4 bedrooms, a bathroom and an en-suite.
